WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Former NFL quarterback Trent Green will join CBS Sports as a game analyst for the 2014 NFL season, chairman Sean McManus announced on Tuesday.

Green will contribute to CBS’s coverage of “The NFL on CBS” and across multiple CBS Sports platforms, including “NFL Monday QB,” and Sunday pre-game show “That Other Pregame Show.”

His broadcast partner will be announced at a later date.

Green’s playing career spanned 15 seasons – with the Chargers, Redskins, Rams, Chiefs and Dolphins – and he began broadcasting immediately after retiring in 2007, first working as an NFL analyst on regional games for Fox.

He’s also worked on Thursday Night Football NFL radio broadcasts for Westwood One, and as a preseason broadcaster for the Chiefs.

CBS has retooled its NFL programming quite a bit this offseason.

In February, it was announced Tony Gonzalez would be joining “The NFL Today” and Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe would be leaving. Shortly thereafter, Bart Scott was also promoted to The NFL Today, being upgraded from his 2013 post on That Other Pregame Show.
