5 Critically Injured in D.C. House Fire

WASHINGTON — A house fire in southeast Washington has sent two children and three adults to the hospital.
District of Columbia firefighters responded to the blaze early Saturday morning in the Barry Farm neighborhood. The fire spread to both the first and second floors of the home.
Fire department spokesman Timothy Wilson says two adults and two children were rescued from the home. A fifth person was injured while trying to help rescue the residents.
The injuries range from smoke inhalation to burns. Wilson says the injuries are life-threatening.
