WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Doug Fister will start the 2014 MLB season on the 15-day disabled list, and Tanner Roark and Taylor Jordan have both been informed they’ve made the Opening Day roster, Bill Ladsen is reporting for MLB.com.

Fister, acquired by the Nats in an offseason trade, left his Minor League start after the first inning Thursday with a right lat strain.

Roark and Jordan were competing for the fifth spot in the Nationals starting rotation this spring.

With Fister on the DL, they’ll fill out the last two spots until his return, forcing the decision of who will remain on the active roster to be made at a later date.
