WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Donald Trump ripped President Barack Obama for his comment about being concerned about a nuclear weapon going off in New York City.

Speaking to Fox News Wednesday night, Trump called it “one of the dumbest statements I’ve ever heard by a president.”

“I have never heard a statement like that. I was watching and I heard it and it was like – I can’t believe he said it,” Trump told Fox News. “He just put a big target on Manhattan.”

Obama made the comment Tuesday during a press conference in the Netherlands when talking about if Russia was a threat to the U.S.

“Russia’s actions are a problem. They don’t pose the number one national security threat to the United States. I continue to be much more concerned when it comes to our security with the prospect of a nuclear weapon going off in Manhattan,” Obama said.

Trump believed that Obama was exhausted when he made the comment.

“All you’re doing is saying that this is a target and do it here,” Trump said.

Trump also said that Obama is not a natural leader and that it’s very hard for the president to lead.

Obama began his European trip Monday and met with Pope Francis at the Vatican Thursday. Obama will be travelling to Saudi Arabia Friday and meeting with King Abdullah in an effort to repair relations.
