WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - The Washington Nationals have signed left-handed pitcher Michael Gonzalez, who the team released on Tuesday, to a minor league contract.

Gonzalez, 35, is an 11-year Major League veteran and pitched for the Nationals in 2012.

He re-signed with the team in early March, prior to being released and signing again.

Gonzalez had a 4.68 ERA in 50 innings pitched for the Brewers in 2013, with 25 walks, 60 strikeouts and a 1.660 WHIP and 10.8 strikeouts per nine innings.

He has a career 3.14 ERA in 444.1 innings pitched between the Pirates, Braves, Orioles, Rangers, Nationals and Brewers.
