Hillary Clinton Guilt Tripped About 2016 Presidential Bid
WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was guilt tripped about divulging whether or not she would run for president in 2016.
Clinton has dodged questions about the question in the past, however that didn’t stop a young woman from asking her about her 2016 plans at the Saturday meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative University in Tempe, Ariz.
“Mrs. Clinton, if you don’t represent women in politics in America as future president, who will?” the young woman asked Clinton, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel, who was moderating the conversation, jumped in trying to get an answer from Clinton asking “To add to that, when you do run for president will you use the old Clinton campaign lawn signs?”
Clinton tried to segue the conversation, but Kimmel wouldn’t let her off the hook.
“She wants an answer!” he told Clinton.
“Look, I am very much concerned about the direction of our country. And it’s not just who runs for office, but what they do when they get there,” Clinton explained. “I’m obviously thinking about all kinds of decisions.”
The former senator said she is considering another run for the White House and that she will decide later this year.
She was joined onstage by her husband, former President Bill Clinton and her daughter, Chelsea.
The 66-year-old was then asked by Kimmel if she will have another child.
“Well, no, but I wouldn’t mind one of those grandchildren I hear so much about,” she said.
