Outside of the school’s National Championship in 2010, Duke is beginning to develop a reputation of opening round letdowns.

The most recent occurrence came in 2012, when Duke was knocked out 75-70 in the early going by 15-seeded Lehigh.

In 2007, Duke lost 79-77 to 11-seeded VCU.
