Md. Man Pleads Guilty to Killing His Grandparents

TOWSON, Md. — Prosecutors say a man charged with killing his grandparents in the Pikesville home he shared with them has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the slayings.

Thirty-three-year-old Matthew Long entered the plea Thursday in Baltimore County Circuit Court. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Eighty-seven-year-old Vaughn George Pepper and 85-year-old Marjorie Marie Pepper were found dead in their home Sept. 10, 2012. Baltimore County police said the weapons used to kill the Peppers were a pair of 20-pound dumbbells and a knife.

Long was found the next day in a motel room in Weatherford, Okla., after an apparent suicide attempt.
