Early Morning Fire Burns Portable Classroom in Anne Arundel
LANHAM, Md. (WNEW) — A fire burned through a portable classroom at a school in Anne Arundel County early Sunday morning, authorities say.
The blaze broke out just after 5 a.m. at the Praise Redemption Child Development Center in the 900 block of Lower Pindell Road in Lothian, according to the Anne Arundel Fire Department.
When firefighters arrived, they found a one-story portable classroom located near the chapel on fire. A total of 82 firefighting personnel from Anne Arundel, Calvert and Prince George’s counties, as well as Annapolis, responded to the fire and brought it under control within 40 minutes.
Authorities say no one was injured. An estimate of damage has yet to be determined.
Lower Pindell Road at Route 4 remains closed as authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
