CHEVY CHASE, Md. (CBSDC) — Three men and a woman are in custody after reported gunfire brought a large police presence to a residential area of Chevy Chase early Friday.

A neighbor called 911 around 2 a.m. after hearing multiple gunshots and seeing a bright muzzle flash in the 8400 block of Freyman Drive. Montgomery County Police are confident the shots were fired from a semi-automatic or automatic weapon outside of a home in that area.

Authorities say there is no indication that anybody was injured.

A SWAT team was called to the area out of concern for a possible domestic situation. The team left the area before the four people were taken into custody.

The group was not immediately charged by police, according to WNEW reporter John Domen.

WNEW’s John Domen contributed to this report.
