WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – The Redskins have robbed the Cowboys of their sack leader, Jason Hatcher.
The 31-year-old defensive lineman who led Dallas with 11 sacks in 2013 has agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins, his agent tweeted Thursday.
He’s set to earn $27.5 million from the Redskins over four years, Ian Rapoport is reporting.
Signing Hatcher, an 8-year NFL veteran (drafted in the 3rd round by Dallas in 2006) would eliminate a major threat to Robert Griffin III, who’s been sacked three times by Hatcher over the last two seasons.
Hatcher had 34 tackles and 2 forced fumbles to go with his 11 sacks in 2013.
He has 205 tackles (143 solo), 4 forced fumbles, 4 fumbles recovered and 27 total sacks in his career.
The Redskins are also meeting with former Cowboys d-lineman Anthony Spencer on Thursday, according to Mike Jones.
Take a second and imagine a Redskins front seven featuring Brian Orakpo, Ryan Kerrigan, Jason Hatcher and possibly Anthony Spencer.
