Capitals’ Tom Wilson Didn’t Know Antarctica Is a Continent
WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Tom Wilson wants to visit every continent in the world in his lifetime, according to his player bio on the Washington Capitals website.
Until Thursday, he didn’t know such extensive travels would take him to Antarctica … because he didn’t know Antarctica was one of the seven continents.
Tom Wilson’s player bio:
Won the EA Sports NHL 14 Tournament at the 2013 NHLPA Rookie Showcase … Enjoys skiing and wakeboarding in the offseason … Aspires to someday travel to every continent … Enjoys watching Friday Night Lights and reading Harry Potter … Favorite hockey memory is his 1st NHL Game.
Wilson joined the Junkies on 106.7 The Fan on Thursday, and was asked about his desire to traverse the globe.
“I also read in his bio he wants to travel to every continent at some point in his lifetime,” Cakes said. “I’m guessing that includes Antarctica. That’s a continent. Why would you want to travel there, Tom?”
“Did I say that?” Wilson asked. “I don’t know. That would definitely be cool. I don’t know. Antarctica’s a continent? That’s not true, is it?”
“It definitely is!” Cakes devoured him.
“Yea,” Lurch said. “I mean, there’s no one there, but yea, it is a continent.”
It’s worth listening to in the audio clip above (full interview below).
So no one has to suffer the same embarrassment, the seven continents are: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia.
Also, statistically, one-third of the world is covered by Fred Smoot.
