Thinking about a new pet? There are plenty waiting for you at the Baltimore Humane Society, including Reecie the longhair tabby.

Pretty yellow eyes, a fluffy tail and a playful personality make this 2-year-old girl a favorite of teen volunteer Nathan Shifflet, who says she is very affectionate.

Reecie loves sitting in people’s laps so she can be brushed and pet.

Shelter spokeswoman Wendy Goldband says Reecie’s adoption during the month of March would be free as part of the shelter’s “Cabin Fever” special. Any animals that have been at the shelter since the first day of winter or longer have no adoption fees this month.
