WASHINGTON — An online lottery for families who want tickets to the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House has opened.
The lottery opened Friday and closes Monday at 10 a.m. The tickets are free but non-transferable.
The event will be held on April 21 and will feature sports courts, cooking stations, live music and storytelling, as well as the traditional rolling of hard-boiled eggs across the South Lawn. More than 30,000 people are expected to attend.
The results of the lottery will be available on March 14. The tradition dates to 1878.
