PRINCE WILLIAM, Va. — Police have charged three Prince William County students with computer harassment after they allegedly shared nude photos of other students online.
Prince William County police spokesman Jonathan Perok says the teens asked their classmates for the images, and the classmates sent them voluntarily.
The teens posted the images they received on Instagram, but it was not clear whether they had permission to do so. Perok says none of the photographs seem to have been taken on school property or using school equipment.
More than 50 explicit images were posted in several accounts, which were shut down by police.
Police identified the three students as a 13-year-old boy at Stonewall Middle School, a 14-year-old boy in a county computer-based school program and a 15-year-old girl from C. D. Hylton High School.
