Man Fatally Struck by Metro Train

Updated: March 6, 2014 8:40 p.m.

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) – A man was killed after a Metro train struck him during rush hour Thursday night, causing delays along the Green and Yellow lines into the evening.

Metro officials believe the unidentified man intentionally jumped in front of the train at the Waterfront station around 5:30 p.m.

Green Line trains were single-tracking between L’Enfant and Navy Yard stations until 8:30 p.m.

Riders should still expect minimal delays and are advised to consider taking the Red Line as an alternative between Gallery Place and Fort Totten.
