Redskins Cut Veterans Adam Carriker, Sav Rocca

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – The Washington Redskins have terminated the contracts of veteran defensive lineman Adam Carriker and veteran punter Sav Rocca, the team announced on Tuesday.

Carriker, 29, signed with the Redskins in 2010 after two seasons with St. Louis, and has struggled to remain healthy — playing just two games in the last two of his four seasons in Washington.

Rocca, 40, has spent the last three seasons in burgundy and gold. He lost nearly two yards off his average yards per punt, from 2012 (43.9) to 2013 (42).

Other roster moves the team announced include terminating the contracts of tight end Richard Quinn, and waiving running backs Jawan Jamison and former Terp Davin Meggett.

All three were practice squadders. Only Jamison was drafted by the Redskins — selected in the 7th round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
