STX Throat Protector Recalled After Lacrosse Player Injured

BALTIMORE (CBSDC) — A Baltimore-based sports goods manufacturer is recalling a throat protector used by lacrosse goalies after player suffered bruises and lacerations as a result of a faulty device.

STX says about 4,000 Shield throat protectors are impacted by the recall. The company says the guard can crack or break when struck by a lacrosse ball.

Customers are being told to stop using the device and call the company at (888) 789-7894 for a refund. Additional information can be found on the STX website.
