Police Investigating Homicide of 65-Year-Old Man in Silver Spring

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A 65-year-old man identified as Phillip F. Welsh, Jr. was found dead in a Silver Spring home Thursday.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled the death a homicide.

Montgomery County Police officers responded to the home on the 2000 block of Hanover Street at 2:37 p.m., after a coworker came to check on Welsh and found his body. The coworker told authorities that Welsh hadn’t reported to work.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. Tips received through the Crime Solvers program may be eligible for a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or people responsible for this homicide.
