Marylanders Last Longer In Bedroom Than D.C. And Virginia Residents

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — The average length of a sexual encounter is about a minute longer in Maryland than in neighboring Washington, D.C. and Virginia, according to a mobile app that tracks sexual activity in the bedroom.

Data compiled by the Spreadsheets App shows intercourse among Marylanders lasts an average of 3:15.

The phrase “Virginia is for lovers” applies for all of 2:23 in the Commonwealth. And in the District, the romance fizzles out after just 2:08.

Nationally, New Mexico ranked first among all 50 states and the District with bedroom sessions averaging 7:01. Maryland ranked 16th, while Virginia and Washington ranked 37th and 45th, respectively.

Nearby West Virginia ranked second in the country with an average rendezvous of 5:38, Nerve.com reports.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Alaskans needed to cave out just 1:21 from their day to get the job done — the fastest session in the country.
