LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A person was shot and jumped out of a third-floor apartment window during an apparent attempted robbery in Silver Spring late Wednesday.
Multiple people forced their way inside of the apartment, located in the 11500 block of February Circle, around 11:45 p.m., according to Montgomery County Police.
Neighbors heard multiple shots during the incident and one person was struck. The shooting victim then jumped out of the window and was later discovered by police responding to a report of gunfire. They were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It is unclear whether the shooting victim was involved in the robbery or a resident in the apartment.
Officers spotted a car matching the getaway car description a short time later and attempted to make a traffic stop. The passengers fled on foot after the car stopped near Route 29 and Georgia Avenue in Colesville.
The suspects were all apprehended and are being questioned by police.
The investigation into the shooting is continuing.
