LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A Fairfax County man is under arrest for a vicious stabbing that claimed the life of his roommate and injured another woman early Thursday morning in Falls Church.

Police charged Marlon Oswaldo Gudiel Polanco, 32, with the murder of Alvaro Zepeda, 44, late Thursday afternoon.

Police received a report of a stabbing at an apartment located in the 2900 block of John Marshall Drive shortly before 6:20 a.m., officials say.

A police helicopter located Polanco who fled from the scene and was hiding outside the apartment complex. The suspect and a police officer were injured as authorities attempted to take him into custody, police say.

The injured woman and Zepada’s body were discovered inside the residence.

The police officer, suspect and female victim all were transported to the hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries.

A motive for the attack was not immediately clear.

Polanco is currently being held at the Fairfax County Detention Center.
