Winter Storm Delays Delivery of Girl Scout Cookies
WASHINGTON — This week’s winter storm means thousands of Girl Scouts will have to wait up to a week to deliver cookies to their customers.
A Girl Scouts spokeswoman says the organization had to reschedule delivery of 577,000 boxes of cookies in the Washington area.
The biggest delivery to be postponed was in the District of Columbia, where 135,000 boxes were scheduled to be delivered to the city’s Girl Scouts at RFK Stadium on Friday. That delivery has been pushed back to next Friday.
All told, Girl Scouts in the district and its suburbs are receiving 4 million cookies at 39 locations.
