WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan made hearts swoon all across D.C. on Valentine’s Day, by reading poetry to women to women live on the radio on 106.7 The Fan’s “Grant and Danny” on Friday.
Here’s how it happened:
Women were solicited to call in to have poetry read to them by Kerrigan, and then Kerrigan read from poems he had prepared ahead of time. His material ranged from variations of ‘Roses are red, violets are blue’ to pulling passages directly from ‘N Sync’s “(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time On You.”
It should be noted, Kerrigan sold his performance by deadpanning his passion for each caller, as if he’d actually know them, and actually was in love with them all along. In reality, he’s likely never met any of them. The women, melting at the sound of a Redskins favorite tugging at their heart-strings, all responded in kind.
