WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Valentine’s Day brings the potential for all kinds of themed entertainment programming, as media attempt to reel in the female demographic for the annual holiday.
One example of this came Friday, when linebacker Ryan Kerrigan recited his way into the hearts of female Redskins fans with poetry, live on the radio on 106.7 The Fan.
Another would be full-fledged entertainment reporter Kevin McCarthy’s very own Valentine’s Day special scheduled for prime time on Fox 5 in Washington, D.C.
Kevin announced the news via Twitter, by way of an Instagram photo of his television screen set to record a program called “Foxbeat True Romance” — described as ‘a review of the latest romantic movies in theaters’ — which airs from 10:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
V-day has been a bit of a media boon for Kevin.
Earlier Friday, Kevin and his girlfriend Lauren Veneziani, also a movie reviewer, had their own feature segment together on Fox 5’s morning news [WATCH IT HERE], during which they listed their favorite romantic movies, which was also previewed by The Reliable Source in the Washington Post.

Oh, and then there was Elisabeth Hasselbeck fawning over Kevin even earlier this morning on Fox News’ nationally televised “Fox and Friends.”
Should I mention again that Kevin got verified by Twitter last week?
Long ago, Kevin was once ridiculed endlessly for his nerdy love for movies, and now he’s using that obsession as a catapult to superstardom.
Take a mental picture. This is what it looks like to watch someone blow up before your eyes.
