11 Injured, Mostly Children in Capital Beltway Accident

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Montgomery County Fire says 11 passengers were transported to the hospital after a van filled with mostly children inside, overturned on the Capital Beltway Friday evening.
The accident briefly shutdown all lanes of the inner loop of I-495 right before the River Road exit at 5:15 p.m.
Police say one adult female and one child were transported to a local area hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Nine other children were also taken to the hospital for evaluation, but none of them are reported to be seriously injured.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
