Woman Charged With Pepper Spraying Metrobus Driver In Southeast

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — A woman from southeast Washington is facing charges after pepper-spraying a bus driver Monday afternoon, Metro says.

Dominique Edwards, 26, sprayed the Metrobus driver as she exited at a stop located at Stanton and Elvans roads in Southeast around 1 p.m. Edwards was wearing a dark coat and hair curlers at the time, according to an Associate Press report.

She was briefly able to get away, but police were able to make an arrest within about two hours. Authorities reviewed surveillance footage from an on-board camera during their investigation, Metro says.

The driver was treated at the scene and Metro says no passengers were injured during the attack.

Edwards has been charged with simple assault.
