MARC Train Delayed, Then Stopped Completely By Downed Trees

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Icy conditions caused tricky commutes for many people in the D.C. region Wednesday, but it completely prevented some MARC Brunswick line riders from reaching their destinations.

According to the Maryland Transit Administration, ice and downed trees first slowed then completely stopped MARC service from Brunswick to D.C.

Trains 874 and 878 were reversed and sent back to Martinsburg, W. Va. after a CSX electrician cut power to the line so trees could be moved.
