LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — For the second time in less than three months, a Subway restaurant in Burtsonville has been burglarized. The latest, a smash and grab style robbery, occurred early Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the Subway restaurant located in the 15500 block of Columbia Pike around 2:20 a.m., Montgomery County Police say.

The robber stole property from inside the store after smashing glass in the front door to gain access. NBC 4 reports $150 in cash, a safe, and a security system that included video of the robbery were taken.

Police tell WNEW although there has been a rash of similar robberies in recent months, none have occurred in recent weeks until Tuesday.
