LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Monday night is a bucket lister for radio funnyman and sports nerd Danny Rouhier.
The 106.7 The Fan mid-day personality will join Dave Johnson and Glenn Consor as the third man on the broadcast team when the Washington Wizards host the Portland Trailblazers at the Verizon Center. It was Consor who personally invited Rouhier to join the radio broadcast.
“My number one job is not to screw up the broadcast… don’t kick any chords, only speak when spoken to, and pray that the game goes quickly,” Rouhier exclusively told The Fan.
It’s doubtful the broadcast will be more than a one-time event, but Rouhier is excited nonetheless.
“I’d certainly be open to [calling basketball full-time], but despite my availability and my phone number being readily attainable for anyone, no one is calling,” he said.
As for a a prediction on his performance?
“D-plus at best,” Rouhier said.
Like the Air Force, he’s aiming high.
The game tips at 7 p.m. and Rouhier’s call can be heard on 106.7 The Fan.
