Large Sinkhole Will Close Portion of Mass. Ave. SE for 10+ Days

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A portion of Massachusetts Avenue SE will be closed for at least 10 days as crews work to repair a large sinkhole.

The roadway was shutdown Thursday afternoon after a water main break caused a sizable chunk of land to erode.

The road will be closed between 34th Street SE and N Street SE, according to the District Department of Transportation.

DC Water will be doing the repairs. They are also shutting off water in the area at 2 p.m. Friday for up to 8 hours to fix a valve.
