WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is picking the Denver Broncos to defeat the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl by seven points or more.
Although he won’t be able to watch the game live, as he told the Junkies on Thursday he’ll be flying back from a funeral at the time, he is having someone record the game so he can watch it upon his return home in Toronto.
“I like Denver,” Ford told the Junkies on 106.7 The Fan.
“I think they’re gonna beat [Seattle] by seven or more,” he said, in spite of Denver currently only be favored by three points over the Seahawks. “It won’t even be close.”
“I just think Peyton [Manning’s] gonna open up and they aren’t gonna be able to defend it,” Ford said. “Don’t get me wrong, Seattle has a great defense, but I don’t think they’ve faced a great offense like Peyton and the boys. Moreno, the running back, he gets hot, and they’ve got a great offensive line — they’re gonna give them a lot of time — and we’ll see what happens, but I think they’re gonna win by seven or more.”
The mayor has a leniency towards picking against the spread, although he notes a conflict of interest, as Broncos offensive lineman Orlando Franklin is a Toronto native.
