Gansler, Mizeur Debate Fix to Health Exchange
SILVER SPRING, Md. — Two Democratic candidates for governor of Maryland have offered some thoughts on how to address the state’s troubled health exchange.
Attorney General Doug Gansler said Thursday night at a forum in Silver Spring that residents should be able to choose whether between the federal exchange or the state’s own exchange.
But Del. Heather Mizeur says Gansler’s proposal can’t be done. She says she has been speaking to experts about how to move forward.
Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, who also is a candidate, did not attend the forum. His father died earlier Thursday.
Brown has come under criticism for the flawed health care rollout, because he took on a leading role in implementing it. He has said he was not made aware of the scope of the technological problems.
