Dem Gubernatorial Candidate Won’t Join Obama During Wisconsin Stop

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke will not be joining President Barack Obama when he makes a stop in Wisconsin on Thursday.

Burke’s campaign spokesman Joe Zepecki said Tuesday that Burke a full day scheduled in western Wisconsin and will not be able to make it to the Milwaukee area.

Obama plans to tour a General Electric gas engine plant in Waukesha to talk about the economy. It is part of a four-state stop following his State of the Union speech.

Republican Gov. Scott Walker has not yet said whether he will join the president.

Obama was originally scheduled to spend the night Wednesday in Milwaukee, but his plans changed to now limit the visit only to Thursday morning.
