GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Homicide detectives from Anne Arundel County will be on hand for a vigil marking the death of a retired school teacher who was fatally shot three years ago.

Myra Elizabeth Cason was killed in a Glen Burnie parking lot on Jan. 28, 2011.

Family members are holding a vigil at 2 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot where the shooting took place, located in the 7300 block of Ritchie Highway, and homicide detectives will be there to pass out informational flyers.

Police say they now believe that this was not a random killing and that the 63-year-old Cason was shot by someone who knew her.

Cason was a retired Anne Arundel County school teacher.
