4-Year Old in Va. Calls 911 Saying He’s Hungry; Mother Charged

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A Virginia mother is facing felony child neglect charges after her 4-year-old son called police, asking for help because he was hungry.

The boy called the Prince William County Police Department around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, claiming he was hungry and asking for assistance.

Officers responded to the home in the 11800 block of Frank Haskell Court in Bristow, Va., where they found the 4-year-old home alone.

The mother, identified as 43-year-old Love Sonia Altagracia Polanco Franklin, was arrested shortly after she arrived home, police say.

She was charged with felony child neglect and later released on “personal recognizance”.
