LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Immediately after Richard Sherman cut a pro wrestling style promo on Michael Crabtree following the NFC Championship, the WWE comparisons began.

And why shouldn’t they, brother?!

Sherman appeared to scare the ever-loving bejeebus out of Fox sideline reporter Erin Andrews as he blasted the deflated San Francisco 49ers wide receiver. At the time, Andrews resembled a frightened Mean Gene Okerlund.

“I’m the best corner in the game. When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that’s the result you’re going to get! Don’t you ever talk about me!” Sherman exclaimed.

Andrews followed up by asking who was talking about him?

“Crabtree!” Sherman said. “Don’t you open your mouth about the best! Or I’m ma shut it for you real quick! L.O.B.”

Nerds of the squared-circle know L.O.B. (Legion of Boom) is the nickname of the Seahawks secondary and is not to be confused with the vintage pro wrestling faction L.O.D. (Legion of Doom).

All of Sherman’s high intensity trash talk wasn’t lost on the WWE wrestlers who actually do this for a living. For the most part, they loved it.

And then there’s CM Punk who turned heel on the heel (wrestling speak for ‘bad guy’).
