HYATTSVILLE, Md. (CBSDC) — A man who was struck by a vehicle in Prince George’s County on Monday morning has died.

WNEW’s George Mesthos reports that a Ford SUV was traveling northbound on Rhode Island Avenue in Hyattsville when it crossed into the southbound lanes, jumped the curb and hit an adult male before crashing into a storefront in the 4800 block.

Authorities said 24-year-old Jose Martin Huaman was in critical condition when he was transported to the hospital. He later died at the hospital.

A a 44-year-old female driver suffered minor injuries and police say no charges have been filed.

Detectives believe the SUV may have hit a patch of ice before it lost control.
