LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — The Capital Beltway was backed up for a period of time Monday morning after several cars struck debris on the outerloop in Montgomery County between Colesville Road and Georgia Avenue.
Witnesses tell WNEW’s Kris Ankarlo that the rubble likely fell from a work truck.
Up to 10 cars were affected, and many of them got flat tires as a result. It took quite a while for tow trucks to clear all the vehicles from the roadway and reopen all the lanes of the Beltway.
It was originally thought that there was a 10-car pileup in the area.
