Route 50 Shutdown In Annapolis For Urgent Cable Repairs

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Authorities will close all lanes of Route 50 to make urgent repairs to communications cables in Annapolis.

The cables were knocked down at some point Friday morning and may adversely impact the 911 communications system, according to Maryland State Highway Administration spokesperson Charlie Gischlar.

Traffic will be blocked in both directions between Cape St. Claire Road and Sandy Point State Park while repairs are made.

Officials say it may take up to 30 minutes for crews to complete the work.

Check current traffic conditions.
