WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - Jay Gruden made his D.C. sports radio debut with Lavar and Dukes on 106.7 The Fan on Thursday.

He was announced as the next head coach earlier in the day, previously having been the Bengals offensive coordinator for three seasons.

Although there’s a new man in charge, many of the same faces can be seen around Redskins Park next season. Staying on staff will be defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, former tight ends coach Sean McVay, who’s been promoted to offensive coordinator, and defensive backs coach Raheem Morris.

“I feel like Jay has the abilities to be able to adapt an offense to the personnel that he’s dealing with — not just his quarterback, but also everybody else on that football team,” said former Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann, who employed Gruden as the head coach of his UFL football team in 2010.

Listen to the interview, if for no other reason than to catch a flashy soundbite, like this one, which features Gruden shouting obscenities at his Bengals offense during an episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks prior to the 2013 regular season.

Listen to a replay of the interview here.
