WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Metro says weekend work will affect all five lines of the Metro system, with trains operating every 20 minutes on most lines.

Metro says beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through system closing on Sunday, trains on the orange, blue, yellow and green lines will operate every 20 minutes.

On the red line, trains will run about every eight minutes between Shady Grove and Union Station from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and every 16 minutes elsewhere on the line and in the evening.

The track work is not expected to curtail the adventurous spirits of those planning participate in Sunday’s “No Pants Metro Ride.”
