Dulles, BWI Airports Set Record Low Temperatures

BALTIMORE (CBSDC/AP) — The National Weather Service says the temperature has reached a record low at Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshal International Airport.
The agency says the temperature was 3 degrees at BWI just before 6 a.m. Tuesday with a wind chill of minus 16. The airport’s previous record for the day was set in 1988 at 8 degrees.
Temperatures at Dulles International Airport dipped to 3 degrees before 9 a.m., breaking the previous record of 8 degrees set in 1996.
The lowest temperature for the date at Reagan National Airport is 5 degrees in 1884. The weather service says the temperature at the airport was 7 degrees just before 6 a.m. with a wind chill of minus 10.
