Driver in Pr. George’s Crash Hits Tree, Dies

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (CBSDC) – Prince George’s County Police continue to investigate a fatal collision that occurred in Fort Washington early Saturday morning.

Police were called to the intersection of Indian Head Highway and Palmer Road for the report of a two-car collision around 4:15 a.m.

Officers found one of the drivers suffering from critical injuries upon arrival. The male victim was taken to a hospital where he later died.

The preliminary investigation reveals an Acura TL and Ford Expedition were traveling southbound on Indian Head Highway approaching Palmer Road, at which point police believe the driver of the Acura then lost control of his car, veered off the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver of the Ford went uninjured.

Investigators believe speed was a factor.
