WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – If there’s ever been an ideal weekend to avoid riding the Metro, this is it.
All five Metro lines will be experiencing delays through closing time Sunday evening for maintenance, and riders area already growing weary.
“You’re standing here waiting for a train, and then sometimes the train will come and it’s not even in service,” said Tameka Moore from Silver Spring. “So … it’s a mess.”
Trains on the Blue, Orange, Yellow and Green lines will operate every 20 minutes, Metro says. Red line trains will run every 15 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont, with additional trains providing service from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. between Friendship Heights and Silver Spring.
Metrobus service may provide an alternate travel option for some riders. Metro recommends using the Trip Planner feature on its website, and selecting the “bus only” option, to help plan your trip accordingly.
