WASHINGTON — A D.C. man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for stabbing a friend after an argument over a $20 debt.
Fifty-three-year-old Charles Link had been convicted in October of assault with a dangerous weapon. He was sentenced Friday in Superior Court.
According to evidence presented at trial, on Nov. 13, 2012, Link and the friend argued about $20 the friend owed him. Prosecutors say another man pushed the friend to the ground, and kicked and punched the victim.
Authorities say Link then stabbed the victim five times.
