LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — A 38-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a New Year’s Day homicide in Clinton, Md.

The suspect is identified as D’Juan Renay Hunter of the 2700 block of Shipley Terrace in Southeast D.C.

At about 9 p.m. Jan. 1, Prince George’s County Police officers were called to the 9100 block of Goldfield Place for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found 52-year-old Raymond Quattlebaum, a resident of the home, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

An investigation revealed that Quattlebaum was engaged to Hunter’s mother. Hunter went to the home to visit and he and Quattlebaum became engaged in a confrontation. Hunter shot Quattlebaum, then ran from the home, police say.

He was found and arrested Thursday morning in Bowie. He faces first degree murder and related charges.
