WASHINGTON — Police say a man has died in a single-car crash that closed the Anacostia Freeway overnight.
The accident occurred late Monday night in the northbound lanes of Interstate 295 in Washington between East Capitol Street and Pennsylvania Avenue SE.
Police say a driver apparently lost control of a Chevrolet Camaro. The car flipped over and went into the woods.
Investigators kept the northbound lanes of the highway closed overnight. The road reopened about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, but an investigation continues.
