WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Westfield Wheaton Mall has reopened following a two-alarm fire stemming from the food court around lunchtime Saturday.

Panic spread through the mall customers overheard the loudspeaker announcement that they needed to evacuate the building due to a fire, which fire officials tell WNEW began in the Crisp & Juicy.

Montgomery County Police arrived on the scene a short time later to assist with crowd control, as people were exited out of the building. Firefighters have since extinguished the fire, and as of 1:31 p.m., the mall has been reopened.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
