UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Officials say two separate fires damaged homes and displaced two families in Prince George’s County.

The first fire was reported about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday in Upper Marlboro. The Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department says the single-story home was in an area without hydrants and firefighters shuttled water by tankers.

It took firefighters an hour to bring the blaze under control. Damage was estimated at $200,000.

The second fire was reported about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in Capitol Heights. It was brought under control in about 20 minutes. Damage was estimated at $50,000.

No one was hurt in either fire. Officials say both blazes are under investigation.
